About your guide 

My name is Jake Szuhaj, I have been an Oakland native, and a fish fanatic my whole life. I recently put my study of fisheries on pause to pursue another passion, guiding. Being self-taught completely has given me an appreciation for the struggle people go through in finding success in the sport. Seeing the ear to ear grin of someone on a big fish is more rewarding to me than simply catching another one myself. So many Californians are unaware of the bounty of fishing that exists right in the backyard of the Bay Area and beyond and I am hoping to change that, one client at a time.  (At the bottom of the page you will see depicted my diploma from attending fly fishing guide school)
